The 2023 BLEACH* Festival is one of Australia's best and most exciting contemporary art events, and you must attend it. Expect 11 days of modern art experiences offered by Placemakers* as the festival heralds the most avant-garde and daring local artists. The BLEACH* Festival features live music, fascinating storytelling, performance art, and more.
The 12th BLEACH* Festival has five locations: North Burleigh, Broadbeach Cultural Precinct, Gold Coast Botanical Gardens, Home of the Arts (HOTA), and Currumbin Valley. There will be more citywide activations as well.
The festival officially begins on August 3 and runs through August 13. Enjoy First Light - Headland at North Burleigh Beach with violinist Véronique Serret and Kalkadunga native William Barton. The pair transports you to Headland, a peaceful soundscape inspired by the Australian natural surroundings.
Have fun at BLEACH* Love Your Local North Burleigh Hub. The North Burleigh Hub has something for everyone, whether taking part in dance performances with the sand between your toes, learning how to make fire and play traditional drums, or listening to some of the Gold Coast's most significant artists in the shade of Norfolk pines. Gold Coast Whale Festival
Attend the Gold Coast Whale Festival to learn more about these beautiful creatures. The event, presented by Humpbacks and Highrises (HHR), will take place on August 12 at Justins Park in Burleigh Heads and aims to increase awareness of the seas and the majestic whales.
Various groups will have booths and displays to educate the public about marine and coastal sustainability. During the day, everyone will have the opportunity to learn through family-friendly activities. They also offer games and fluke matching to help younger students learn more about whales and the maritime environment.
